ELISE SLATER BECK age 99 died Sunday January 3, 2009 at her home in Murfreesboro, TN. Mrs. Beck was a native of Wartrace, TN and was the daughter of the late Bert and Addie Bowen Slater. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Beck who died in l963 and her sister, Rosiland (Rose) Motlow. She is survived by her son, John H. Beck of Murfreesboro, TN and her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Tom Tytula of Huntsville, AL; two grandchildren, Teresa Lynn Tytula and Mary Elizabeth Burcham; three great-grandsons, Will, Wesley, and Wyatt Burcham. Graveside services will be 11:30 AM Wednesday January 6, 2010 at the Hollywood Cemetery in Wartrace. Rev. Steve Odom will officiate. Mrs. Beck was a former music teacher at Rockvale School and was pianist at First Baptist Church. She attended Central Christian Church where she served as church organist for many years before her retirement. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
