Mrs. Elfreda Mingle Wassom, age 84, of Shelbyville, TN passed away Monday, September 25, 2017. She was born in Murfreesboro, TN to the late Bennett Rucker and Willie Knox Thomas Mingle. Mrs. Wassom was the church secretary for several different churches in Tullahoma and Murfreesboro. She was an avid spotted saddle horse lover.

Mrs. Wassom is survived by three daughters, Renee Baker and her husband Alan of Knoxville, TN, Cindy Atkins of Shelbyville, and Angie Bryant and her husband Mason of Harriman, TN; six grandchildren, Dr. Breigh Burns and her husband Darren, Ashley Gannon and her fiancée Justin Youngblood, Taylor Gannon and his fiancée Maria Garcia, Holley Bryant, Kayla McCullough and her husband Justin, and Axton Bryant; eight great-grandchildren, Aubree, Leslie, Anthony, Jaxon, Cailyn, Kinzleigh, Silas, and Eli; and brother-in-law, Mack Elrod. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Hugh Wassom, and sister, Delorece Elrod.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, September 29, 2017 from 10:00am until 11:00am at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 29, 2017 at 11:00am at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
