ELAYNE WELLMAN age 85 of Murfreesboro, died Saturday January 3, 2009 at Adams Place Care Facility in Murfreesboro, TN. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 5th, 1923 to the late Arthur and Frieda Schwartz Jungdahl. She is survived by her husband of 61 _ years Martin Wellman, sons: Glenn (Anne) Wellman of Brentwood, Dean (Cari) Wellman of Lexington, KY, and Keith (Karen) Wellman of Milton, GA; grandchildren Jason (Rebecca) Wellman, Jennifer Wellman, Jessica Wellman, Ryan (Melissa) Wellman, Alyson Wellman and Luke Wellman; great grandson Ethan Wellman; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by a brother Arthur Jungdahl. Mrs. Wellman was raised in Chicago, Illinois and was a talented dancer and gymnast participating in the Chicago Worlds Fair of 1938. After the war she married her sweetheart, Marty, and moved to the Chicago suburb of Glen Ellyn where they raised their sons. They retired to the Beaver Lake Arkansas area for 16 years, moved to the Good Samaritan campus in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas and finally moved to Murfreesboro, TN to be closer to their three sons. Mrs. Wellman devoted her time to her family, her Church, and helping the sick and elderly. She was a volunteer for many years at a nursing home and at the hospital in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She was a deeply spiritual person completing a 4 year course of Bible Study Fellowship at Wheaton College. She shared her knowledge and love of the Lord by leading a bible study class for 12 years. There will be a Memorial Service at Adams Place 1925 Memorial Blvd. Murfreesboro, Tennessee 37129 at 2:00 p.m. Saturday January 17, 2009.
