Elaine Rooker Miles, age 76 of Monroe, Louisiana died Tuesday at her home after a lengthy illness. She was a native of Murfreesboro and a daughter of the late Jack and Stella McGraw Rooker. She was also preceded by brothers John and Donald Rooker and a sister Diane Rooker Kelton. Mrs. Miles is survived by her husband of 58 years Jerry Miles; two sons Jerry Miles, Jr of New Orleans, LA and Mark Miles of Baton Rouge, LA. Mrs. Miles was a retired teacher and taught in both Tennessee and Louisiana schools. She was a member of the Methodist Church, graduated MTSU with a Bachelor's degree and received her Master's degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Mike Waldrop officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 until 10:45 am Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
