Edwin Todd, Jr. age 84 of Murfreesboro, died Saturday at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Todd was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late Edwin Todd, Sr. and Virginia Harrison Todd. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Beasley Todd who died in 2002; an infant sister, Nancy Emily Todd, and a brother in law, James Faulkner.

Mr. Todd is survived by a son, David Todd; a daughter, Sherree Todd Beets and her husband Bobby; a sister, Virginia Ann Faulkner; all of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Rob and Jenny Beets, Ann and Matt Montgomery; great grandchildren, Parker and Stella Beets and Eli Montgomery.

Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Darryl Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family will serve as active pallbearers and his caregivers will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Todd was a member of Christiana Church of Christ, a bail bondsman and a lifelong farmer. He was a well-known athlete in the Crescent and Rockvale communities and was a member of the Old Timers Baseball Club. For many years he was a basketball referee for the TSSAA.
