EDWARD SMITH, age 76 of LaVergne died Monday August 18, 2008. He was a native of Nashville and was preceded in the death by his parents Charlie Lee and Jessie Burgess Smith, a twin brother, Edwin; brothers, Robert W. Kenneth E. and a sister Gertie Brooks A celebration of his life will be 1PM Friday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with Bro. J.W. Searcy. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4PM to 8PM Wednesday and 2pm to 8pm Thursday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Winona Brooks Smith; children, Vonda (Gary) Holland of Lebanon, Mark Edward (Tammy) Smith of Arkansas, Gwen (Louie) Daconto of LaVergne, J.B. (Sherri) Smith of McMinnville, and Annette (Jesse) Martin of LaVergne; 20grandchildren 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Mr. Smith was a devoted member of Friendship Pentecostal Church and a retired ceramic tile mason. Woodfin Chapel Smyrna is in charge of arrangements. 459-3254
