EDWARD CHARLES SEDDON, age 90, Murfreesboro businessman and attorney died Saturday, December 18, 2010. He was a native of Columbus, Ohio and the son of the late Charles and Louise Stoeckle Seddon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clayton Dann Seddon who died in 1976 and a daughter, Louise Anderson Seddon. He is survived by his daughter, Margaret Rhea Seddon and her husband, Robert L. Gibson of Murfreesboro, four grandchildren, Julie (William) Gibson Jamieson of Berlin, Germany, Paul, Dann and Emilee Gibson of all Murfreesboro and two great grandchildren. After graduating from Ohio State University in 1942 he served in General George Pattons army in Europe in World War II, rising to the rank of Captain. He graduated in the first post-war class of Harvard Law School. Upon returning to Murfreesboro, he began his law practice and served as head of the Murfreesboro Housing Authority for several years. He was involved in a number of businesses and founded Cumberland Title Company and First Data Systems. As an active business leader he was an early supporter of Oaklands, served on the Board of Rutherford Hospital and was a member of the Bar Association and Rotary. He was instrumental in the founding of St. Rose of Lima Catholic School. Memorials may be made to The Charity Circle of Murfreesboro, Oaklands or St. Rose Catholic School in his memory.
