Obituary

Edward "Pee Wee" Dye Leonard age 94 of Murfreesboro, passed away Thursday April 9, 2015. A native of Clay County he was the son of the late James Wade and Charity Pedigo Leonard. He is also preceded in death by his first wife; Edith Leonard, son; Jimmy Edward Leonard, step-son; James Owen Puckett, and two sisters and seven brothers. Visitation will be 2:00pm until 6:00pm Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be 10:00am Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Brother Ron Harper and Jim Creech officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mr. Leonard is survived by his wife of 34 years; Virgie Puckett Leonard, two daughters; Carolyn Burgess and her husband Bob of Nashville, Vivian Marie Leonard of Smyrna, step-son; David Puckett and his wife Zana of Murfreesboro, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Leonard was a member of Salem Creek Church of Christ and was retired from Avco after 43 years of service. He was also a World War II Veteran serving in the United States Navy on the Battle Ship U.S.S. Indiana. The family would like to thank the staff at Tennessee State Veterans Home for their comfort and compassionate care.
