Obituary

Edward Clair Kerchner 82 of Smyrna, Tennessee; born March 15, 1927 departed into his spiritual journey on March 20, 2009 with his wife and daughters by his side .Edward was the son of Edmond Fredrick Kerchner and Edna Mae Kerchner of Circleville, Ohio. Edward is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Eula Mae Kerchner; daughters Marie Reynolds of Parker, Colorado and Carol Kerchner of Smyrna, Tennessee; grandson Hal Reynolds of Littleton, Colorado; granddaughter Katherine Shirley, and two great-granddaughters Lauryn and Payton Shirley of Parker, Colorado. Edward is also survived by his brother Robert Spencer of Cridersville, Ohio; cousins Merle Garrett and Carolyn Parks of Chilocothee, Ohio; Barbara Duncan of Lancaster, Ohio; and other beloved family Ashley Reynolds, Michael Shirley, Thomas Mount, many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and special friends Maynard Burns, Laura Clinton, and Charles Duncan. Edward served over twenty years in the armed forces, beginning with the Coast Guard, then to the Army Air Corps and ultimately retiring from the US Air Force. He then went on to retire from the, US Postal Service, Murfreesboro, Tennessee in 1983. Since retirement he has enjoyed living on his small farm in Smyrna, Tennessee enjoying the good life with his loving wife and adoring cats. Funeral service will be 1:00PM Friday at Woodfin Chapel Smyrna with Nanette Mathe officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with full military rites.
