Edward B. Gilbert, age 72, of Murfreesboro, died Wednesday in Nashville. A native of Davidson County, he was a son of the late Leverne and Otilia Grissom Gilbert. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Buddy and Glynn Gilbert and a sister Peggie Tomlin. Mr. Gilbert is survived by his wife Marie McKnight Gilbert; daughters Melinda Tassey and her husband Corey and Teresa Petty and her husband Mike all of Murfreesboro; grandchildren Andrew and Austin Leaver, Hailey and Chloe Tassey and Morgan Petty. Mr. Gilbert attended Murfreesboro CHS, was a former school bus driver and retired from Americold. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 until 8:00pm and again Saturday from 2:00 until 3:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 3:30pm in Riverside Cemetery in Woodbury with Bro. Joe Vinson officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
