Mrs. Edna Louise "Sister" Johnson Dial, 83, of Murfreesboro, TN went to be with her Lord and Saviour July 2, 2015 at her home. A native of Blackshear, GA, she was the daughter of the late Emmitt & Maggie Deen Johnson. She was loved by many, first as a faithful and loving wife of almost 60 years, a caring mother and grandmother. In later years she was affectionately known as "Little Grandma." She is preceded in death beside her parents, by her husband John Edward "Ed" Dial; four brothers Clifton, Emory, Glenny and Richard Johnson; daughter-in-law Glenda Stapleton Dial; son-in-law Raymond A. Minix, Sr.; and a granddaughter Bonita Gail Dial. She is survived by her son William Edward (Eddie) Dial wife Dee of Smyrna, TN; daughter Elicia (Lisa) Ann Dial Minix of Murfreesboro, TN; four grandchildren Shane Edward Dial wife Tonya of Lavergne, TN, Raymond A. Minix, Jr. wife Angela of Murfreesboro, Pamela Minix Barrett husband Jimmy of Smyrna, TN and Tracey Dial Stone of Smyrna, TN; five great grandchildren Shane Jr., Brandon and Shannon Dial, Zachary Minix and Sydney Stone; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Edna was best known as the little girl who worked at the Jot Em Down Store, a local grocery owned and operated by her parents. She would later go on to work multiple jobs including cashiering at Wall's Foodliner and also Big Star Food Store. Visitation with the family will be Sunday July 5, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday July 6, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Barrett and Bro. Randall Gunter officiating. Burial to follow in the Oakland Cemetery in Waycross, GA. Pallbearers will be Shane Dial, Sr., Shane Dial, Jr., Brandon Dial, Raymond A. Minix, Jr., Jimmy Barrett, Jami Johnson and Warren Gardner. Pearson-Dial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
