Edmond R. Gibson, age 93, died Saturday, December 21, 2013. He was a native of Hoovers Gap and the son of the late Rollie Lee and Mattie Ola Orren Gibson. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Donna G. Hale, brothers, Hershell Gibson, Carl Gibson, Hall Gibson, Willie Paul Gibson, Osnee Gibson, Frank Gibson, sisters, Linnie Dell Alcorn, Margaret Lamb, Altie Bowen, Monema Hudson and Estelle Butler. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. David Clark will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12noon until time of service Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Mr. Gibson is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy Lowe Gibson, daughter, Patsy C. Gibson of Murfreesboro, grandchildren, Denise (Chris) Reed, Michelle (Bobby) Hasty, Melissa (Michael) House, nine great grandchildren, sisters, Schrene Statum of Shelbyville, Mertice Flournoy of Brunswick, GA.
