Edith Virginia Mingle Whitfield , age 90 of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Saturday April 16, 2016. A native of Woodbury, TN, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Eugene and Zora Eva McKnight Mingle. Mrs. Whitfield was also preceded in death by her husband, William Oscar Whitfield, brothers, Carl and Eugene Mingle, and sisters, Gladys Cooper and Pauline O'Keefe.

Mrs. Whitfield is survived by her nieces, Nancy Morris and Janie Taylor both of Murfreesboro, TN, Barbara Domek of Tinley Park, IL, Sherry Green of LaVergne, TN, June Dunai of Ocala, FL, Sara Haley of Woodbury, TN, and Joyce Dutton of Auburntown, TN; nephews, Raymond Cooper of Morrison, TN, Thomas Mingle of Centertown, TN, Walter L. Mingle of McMinnville, TN, and Jimmy Mingle of Auburntown, TN.

Visitation will be Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, one hour before the 2:00 PM funeral service time, with Deacon John D'Amico officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery with Richard Haley conducting the graveside service. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Whitfield was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, and an honorary member of Hillview Baptist Church. She was a retired accountant and bookkeeper for the State of Arkansas.
