EDITH DEMPSEY BURKE, age 88, of Smyrna, died August 8, 2013 at home. She was a native of Rossville, GA, and daughter of the late Mose G. and Elsie Cassady Curd. A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM EST at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park in Rossville, GA. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 5:00 PM Saturday at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Mrs. Burke is survived by her children, Linda Lord, Scotts Valley, CA, Judith Mahoney (Mike), Cookeville, Ginger Smith, Rossville, GA, and Jerome Dempsey (Teresa), Smyrna; grandchildren, Michael and Jason Munson, Kelsey Dempsey, Brad Miller, Michelle Holland, Amanda and Nathan Millett; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Gregory Connelly, and great grandson, Michael Todd Connelly.
