Earl Benjamin Thomas, age 82, of Smyrna, TN went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 10, 2015. A native of Rutherford County, he was preceded in death by his parents, Willie B. and Hattie Sullivan Thomas; and his brother, Granville Thomas. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Christian Church. Robert Mullins will officiate. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery. Mr. Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou Thomas; sons, Terry C. B. Thomas and his wife Benita of Gordonsville, TN; and Daryl G. Thomas of Smyrna; step-children, Mark Cole and his wife Beth of Huron, TN, Lynn McDonald and her husband Allen of Nashville; H.G. Cole Jr. and his wife Holly of Smyrna; and Lee Cole of Smyrna; sister, Mildred Clark of Kingston Springs, TN; grandchildren, Joshua Thomas, Jeremy Thomas, Julie Thomas Hale, Hank Cole, Heather McGarry, Caroline McDonald and Clayton McDonald; great grandson, Henry Cole IV; along with many nieces and nephews. Mr. Thomas was a member of Trinity Christian Church in Smyrna. He was retired from AT&T and Parker Bath Inc. out of New Milton, U.K. Mr. Thomas was a 1951 graduate of Smyrna High School and was a member of Sam Davis Masonic Lodge #661 and the Pioneers. He was an avid golfer. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The Titans Group, Olan Clemmons, and Bob Kostadine will serve as honorary pallbearers. Memorials in memory of Mr. Thomas may be made to the Trinity Christian Church Memorial Fund. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna and one hour prior to the funeral service Saturday. A masonic service will be held Friday at 7:00 p.m.
