DOVIE LEONA PETTY, age 81, of Murfreesboro, died Wednesday, October 1, 2008. She was a native of Dyersburg, TN and the daughter of the late Robert Thomas and Pheraba Carolyn Simpson McPherson. She was also preceded in death by her husband: Daniel Carthel Petty in 1982, and brothers: Gene, Billie Joe McPherson, and Truman McPherson,Earl and Willie Riggs,Birdie Bizzle, Leroy Bizzle and Irene Bizzle Vestal. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Dr. Mike Norris and Reverend Tim Devenney will officiate. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. She is survived by her son and daughter in law: Dan and Nancy Petty of Murfreesboro, daughter and son in law: Barbara and John Devenney of Murfreesboro, brother: Paul Bud (Jewline) McPherson of Dyersburg, sister: Lillian Sis (William) Parrish of Dyersburg, grandchildren: Tim (Geana) Devenney of Louisville, KY, Mike (Cathie) Devenney of Murfreesboro, Jeff (Shelly) Petty of Castellian Springs, and six great grandchildren. Mrs. Petty was a member of Franklin Road Baptist Church and was employed by the University Grill at MTSU. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.
