DORTHA ELAINE THOMAS, age 62, left for a better life Sunday, March 6, 2011. Throughout years of illness, often battling pain and complications, she had a smile and witty comments for all and was the entertainment no matter if she was in the hospital awaiting surgery or meeting a stranger. She had a kind heart for anyone needing help. She was employed by Nashville Wire Products for over 30 years. Ms. Thomas is survived by daughter, Lara Ann Boles, grandsons, Christopher Harper and Joshua Harper of Smyrna, great grandson, Trenton Harper; sisters, Paulette Painter of Lavergne, and Gale Wood of Nolensville; brother Billy Thomas of Smyrna; longtime friend, Donald McCormick; niece Dana (Tony) Vaughn; nephews Jeff (Amy) Wood, Randy (Amanda) Thomas, and Dale (Lori) Thomas, as well as great nephews and nieces and several aunts and cousins. She is preceded in death by parents, Paul W. and Christine G. Thomas of Lavergne. She will be sadly missed by all. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:30 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro with Bob Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
