Dorris Murrell Hockett age 73 of Murfreesboro, passed away Friday May 2, 2014. A native of Coffee County, he was the son of the late Burrell G. and Mary Gipson Hockett. He was also preceded in death by a brother; Lindell Hockett and his triplet brothers; Morris and Norris Hockett. Mr. Hockett is survived by his wife of 50 years; Paulette Wilkerson Hockett, daughters; Tammy Ellis and her husband Bruce of Murfreesboro, Janice Caldwell and her husband Frankie of Shelbyville, four grandchildren; Adam Cogdal, Ashlyn Ellis, Katherine Caldwell, Rachel Burdett, and a great-grandchild due in October. He is also survived by two sisters; Berelene West of Bell Buckle, and Nina Alford of Manchester. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00pm until time of service at 7:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
