Dorothy Bell Taylor, age 97, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Richard Samuel and Ada Bell Nipper Leahew. She was preceded in death by eight sisters, two brothers, husband Jim C. Taylor, daughter Doris Lee Woods, step granddaughter Donna Woods-Nanez, and step great-great grandson Sylis Graham.
She is survived by her daughter (Phyllis Woods), granddaughters, (Melissa (Mike) Creekmore), (Darlene Woods and (Tony) Floyd), Step granddaughter, (Debra Woods), great grandchildren (Christopher (Jeanna) Cook), (Michael Creekmore Jr.), (Cathryn Creekmore), step great-grandchildren (Douglas Graham), (Kyle (Chelsea) Walker), (Carol (John) Fergusson), great-great grandchildren, (Evelyn Cook) and step great-grandchildren, (Melanie Savoca), (Tristain Graham), (Winona Fergusson).
Mrs. Taylor was retired from Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute after 50 years of service where she received numerous awards for her loyalty and service. She was a member of the Baptist Faith.
Visitation will be Thursday February 3, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Woodfin Funeral Chapel in Smyrna with Funeral Services starting at 2:00 p.m. Her nephew, John Oliver Leahew will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
