Dorothy M. Rogers, age 81 of LaVergne, TN died Tuesday at her home. She was native of Pontotoc, MS and was preceded in death by her parents, James Anderson Moody and Leora Renfrow Moody, a brother, James Moody, and daughter-in-law, Donna Rogers. Mrs. Rogers was member of Miracle Baptist Church and was retired from J.C. Penny call center. She is survived by three sons, Everett (Carole) Rogers of Brenham TX, Neil (Mary Ann) Rogers of Smyrna, TN and Wain Rogers of LaVergne, TN She is also survived by four grandchildren, Preston (Stephanie Corde) Rogers, Spencer (Samantha) Rogers, Rebecca (Kevin) Kappers, and Abbey Rogers; and great-grandson, Grayson Emory Rogers; brother, Raymond (Nancy) Moody of Tupelo, MS, Dean (Cathy) Moody of Tupelo, MS, and sister, Eva Smith of Pontotoc, MS; three step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rogers enjoyed quilting, making many memorable keepsakes for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed writing poems and short stories. One of her most favorite activities was taking part in her garden club. She treated everyone she met with love and kindness and will be terribly missed by all who knew her. The family would like to express their gratitude toward Adoration Hospice House and to her many good friends. Funeral service will be 1:00PM Friday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00PM to 8:00PM Thursday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna.
