, 2017 surrounded by her five children. She was 83. Mrs. Morris was a native of Rutherford County and was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Lt. Col. Dannie B. Morris, and by her paren
ts C.B. and Ruth Florida Arnold, sisters Elizabeth Basso, Madge Barrett, Patricia Powell and brothers Cliff Arnold and Tommy Arnold.
She was a member of Fellowship United Methodist Church and was a devoted, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

and Doki Huffman (Steve) all of Murfreesboro; nine grandchildren,

A graduate of Central High School
in 1952
, she was a four-year starter on the "
Tigerettes
" basketball team.
While attending
MTSU
, she met the only love of her life, Dannie.
The two
married on June 21
st
, 1953
and honeymooned in Bermuda -- a prize she received a
fter
she won the
"Miss Norge of 1953," beauty contest
. That was the beginning of a life filled with travels all over the world and in their cherished RV.
She was a founding member of St. Marks Methodist Church and Fellowship United Methodist Church. She was an avid bridge player, a member of the Dames Club
and Young at Heart.
Memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Morris to, Fellowship United Methodist Church.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, at Fellowship United Methodist Church. Mack Strange will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Family will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Fellowship United Methodist Church.
