DOROTHY BENSON JAMES, age 85 of Murfreesboro, died March 7, 2010. She was a native of the Kittrell Community and daughter of the late George Henry and Lola Tilford Benson. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Phil Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. James is survived by her husband of 63 years, T.R. James; daughter, Bonnie (Bob) Watson, Murfreesboro; son, Barry James, Murfreesboro; sisters, Mildred Preston and Mamie Sue Wrather both of Murfreesboro; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren and seventeen nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six sisters, Louise Lester, Viola Robinson, Henrietta Harrell, Willie Wells (Bay) Elrod, Janie Bass, Lou Merrick, and one brother, Charles Clark Benson. Mrs. James was a member of Haynes Chapel United Methodist Church and a graduate of Kittrell High School. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
