Dorothy Sellers Howard, 94, passed away Saturday, December 30th at her home in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Born May 23rd, 1923 in Troy, Alabama, she was married to Charles Edwin Howard for 72 years.
An alumna of Huntington College and MTSU where she earned her master's degree, she and Edwin made Murfreesboro their home.
She was very active in the Women's Club, Cratic Club, the First United Methodist Church, and Middle Tennessee State University.
She was an avid needlepoint and seamstress as well as bridge player.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her daughter Debra (Howard) Campagna of CT, her brother Robert Leon Sellers, Jr. of Troy, AL, and parents Vivian and Robert Sellers of Troy, AL.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, her daughter Jennifer (Howard) Murphy, of Nashville, TN, Grandchildren Zoe (Campagna) Bosworth of Portland, OR, Asia (Campagna) Payne of Houston, TX, Kesa Campagna of CT, Kristopher Murphy of Nashville, TN and Kathleen Murphy of Nashville, TN as well as four great grandchildren.
After a family graveside, Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of a Memorial Service beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel this Friday, January 5th.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Caris Health Care or First United Methodist Church.
