Mrs. Dorothy "Dottie" Geyer, age 77, of LaVergne, TN passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018. She was born in Chicago, IL to the late Kenneth and Elizabeth Neofer Teel. Mrs. Geyer worked briefly as a crossing guard for the Chicago Heights Police Department, but mostly was the mom of all moms. She had a heart of gold and opened her house to any child who needed a home. Mrs. Geyer also enjoyed the jitterbug.

Mrs. Geyer is survived by her children, Loretta Grist, Ronald Dean Simmons, Jr., Richard Alan Simmons, Donna Jean Green and her husband Robert all of LaVergne, Nadene Patellaro and her husband Andrew of Earlville, IL, Connie Turner and her husband Gerald, Jr. of Steger, IL, James Edward Geyer, Jr. of Crete, IL, and Howard Geyer of Francisville, IN; sisters, Trudy Dubbs of IN, Twila Christensen of Princeton, IL, and Rivian Zimmerman of LasVegas, NV; thirteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Big Jim" Edward Geyer, Sr.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
