Dorothy Ann Dot Marlin Nelson, age 81 passed away on August 17, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Madison Marlin, Sr. and Retha Mai Miller Marlin and brother, James Madison Marlin, Jr. She is survived by her four children, Larry Stephen Nelson and wife Sally, Linda Ann Nelson, David Scott Nelson and Jay Coleman Nelson and wife Nancy Nelson. Precious grandchildren, Nelson Thomas Pinkston, Carter Coleman Pinkston, Stephen Laws Nelson, and Denise Michelle Jones. Mrs. Nelson was a graduate from Central High School and attended MTSU. She was a member of the Rutherford County Historical Society, former member of the Junior League of Nashville and Charity Circle of Murfreesboro. She was retired from the State of Tennessee Department of Human Services after 30 years of service. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Murfreesboro. Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Marshall Gupton officiating.
