Dorothy Eidson Hemmer Day went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday September 11, 2013. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Nola Eidson. She is also preceded in death by her first husband; Clarence Hemmer, second husband; W.C. Day, a daughter Eddie Claire Smith, and step daughter Leila Bell Proffitt. Funeral service will be 11:00am Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Brother Bill Lee officiating. Interment will be 1:30pm Saturday at Springhill Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Ms. Day is survived by her step-children; Ronald Hemmer of Springfield, Dorothy Ann Harris of Goodlettsville, Linda McClanahan of Murfreesboro, Joyce Woodard of Brooks Bend,TN, Rose Palmer of McMinnville, Ann Brown of Lebanon, Bill Day of LaGuarda,TN, 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Ms. Day was a member of Hillview Baptist Church. Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00pm Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
