Dorothy Thorpe Buie, age 79 of Murfreesboro died Sunday July 13, 2014. She was a native of Springfield and was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Thorpe and parents, Herschel and Lucille Richardson Shepherd. Dorothy was a loyal manager to Rivers Advertising Sign Company for 21years. After that she worked for Rutherford County Criminal Court as a Deputy Clerk until her retirement in 1997. She is survived by her children; Dawn Strawn and husband Steve of Murfreesboro, Kerry Thorpe and wife Debbie of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Gene Thorpe and wife Desir`, Lance Strawn and wife Erin, Ben Thorpe and wife Stephanie, Ashley Strawn all of Murfreesboro; great-grandchildren, Gracie, Braxton, Gene, Jr., Gage, Brody, Ryker, Ariya, Pipper and Kipton; sister, Geraldine Seabolt of Springfield. Funeral service will be 10AM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel Pastor, Steve Hutson will officiate. Graveside service will be 1PM Thursday at Robertson County Memorial Gardens in Springfield.
