Dorothy E. Beech Ayers, age 87 of LaVergne, TN, died Thursday January 24, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Willie Ayers, and a daughter, Janie Adams. Mrs. Ayers is survived by her daughter and son- in- law, Martha and Wallace Whitehurst of LaVergne, TN; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, Smyrna, with Rev. Carl Scarlett officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association in memory of Mrs. Ayers. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service at 2:00 PM.
