Doris Yoakum, age 79 of Murfreesboro, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2016. She was a native of Idalou, TX and the daughter of the late Ernest Griffith and Ida Ethel Jay. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Luther Yoakum, sister, Anita Childs and a son-in-law, Daniel Ray Green.

Funeral service will be 11:00am Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Pastor Ron Byers will officiate. Private interment will be in Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

She is survived by her daughters, Fran Veal and her husband Randy and Kathy Green, all of Murfreesboro, grandchildren, Katie Green, Janey Green and Sarah Veal, a nephew Russell Elledge and first cousin/sister, Velma Burkham.

Mrs. Yoakum was a member of Barfield Baptist Church and was a section chief with the Internal Revenue Service until her retirement.

Memorials may be made to the Southern Baptist International Mission Board in her memory.
