Doris Lynn Smith

Doris Lynn Durham Smith, age 90 of Whitehouse, TN formally of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Thursday September 17, 2026. She was a native of Memphis, TN and was preceded in death by her husband Harold Smith; parents, Hubert Sanford Durham, and Daisy Eslick Durham.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Doris loved her family, she loved gardening, dogs, and watching birds. She had a deep love for being in God’s Word. She taught many Sunday School classes, played the piano, the organ, she sang in the choir and was active in WMU. She also worked at the TN Baptist Children’s Home in the administrative office. Doris was very creative and loved camping. Her favorite place to visit was Gatlinburg, TN.

She is survived by her daughters, Marcia Cox and husband Terry, Teresa Jackson and husband Brian; grandchildren, Jeremy Cox and wife Jacquelyn, Brandon Cox and wife Chasity, Brittany Ramirez and Jose; great-grandchildren, Branson Cox, Austin Campbell, Emilia Ramir4weez, Bennett Cox.

Visitation will be Wednesday September 23rd 10:00AM until 12Noon at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be Wednesday September 23rd 12 Noon at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with David Bramble officiating. Interment will be Wednesday September 23rd 2:30PM at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia, TN. www.woodfinchapel.com
