DORIS SMITH DEMOS, age 74, of Murfreesboro, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009. She was a native of Carrollton, GA, and the daughter of the late Amos and Johnie Porter Smith. Funeral service will be 10:00am Saturday at St. Pauls Episcopal Church. Father Polk Van Zandt will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Jim P. Demos, son, Peter (Kristin) Demos of Murfreesboro, daughter, Felicia Demos of Murfreesboro, brother, James (Glenda) Smith of Carrollton, GA, grandchildren, Jamey and Karys Demos. Mrs. Demos was a member of St Pauls Episcopal Church. Mrs. Demos and her husband are co-owners of Demos Restaurants of Middle Tennessee. She was a mom to many. She was a lady whose straight forward approach to life made an impression on all who knew her. Mrs. Demos philosophy established the foundation of service that led to the success of Demos Restaurants. Through her daily interactions, many lives were positively touched and the seeds she planted will leave a lasting legacy. Visitation will be from 3:30 until 7:30pm Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
