Doris Ann Marable Burns, age 83, died March 19, 2016. She was a native of the Rocky Glade Community and daughter of the late Buford and Pearl Ralston Marable. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Eron Burns, who died in 1992.

Graveside services will be at 3:00pm Tuesday at Rocky Glade Cemetery. Rev. Larry Guin and Michael Bryan will officiate.

Mrs. Burns is survived by a son, George Gregory Burns and his wife Lisa of Olive Branch, MS; step-mother, Elise Marable; and brother, William Ralston both of Toledo, OH.

Mrs. Burns was a graduate of Eagleville High School and Middle Tennessee State University. She taught school in Williamson and Davidson Counties before moving to Memphis. She was a life-long Presbyterian and was a member of the Woodland Presbyterian Church in Memphis.
