Doris E. Brown, age 83 of Smyrna, died Thursday, March 10, 2016 in Nashville. She was a native of Elizabethton, TN and a daughter of the late David E. and Carrie L. DeLoach. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joel W. Brown who died in 2012, a son, Jeff Brown, and sisters, Mary K. Mitchell and Helen E. Doggett.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Sellers and her husband Steven of Murfreesboro; three sons, Donnie Girton and his wife Martha of Brentwood, Garry Brown and his wife Tina of LaVergne, and Steve Brown and his wife Carolyn of Nashville; a brother, Jerry DeLoach of Nashville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other loving family and friends.

Mrs. Brown was a longtime member of LifePoint Church in Smyrna and was faithful to her relationship with God. Her love for cooking served her well as she managed many large cafeterias and foodservice operations during her long career as a food service manager.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Dr. Lenny Farmer will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
