Mrs. Doralee Lee Murray, age 83, of Smyrna, Tennessee, died Sunday, November 7, 2010. She grew up in Dallas, Texas and was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Bruce Murray and her mother, Regna Barfield. Lee met her husband, Harold in Dallas, Texas, and after her marriage she lived the life of an Air Force wife for twenty-one years, living in Alaska, South Carolina, and Germany. She and her husband settled in Smyrna, Tennessee, after Harolds retirement from the Air Force at Sewart Air Force Base in 1963. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Smyrna, Tennessee, where she sang in the church choir for many years. She worked for over thirty years as a Secretary and Administrative Assistant. Lee loved to read and she was a member of the Smyrna Reviewers (book) Club. She also loved to play bridge and she played with several groups through the years where she developed many close friendships.. Lee loved life and she loved people. She will be dearly missed by both family and friends. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Evans and husband Gordon; son Andrew Alan Murray; grandchildren Carl Martin Evans and James Andrew Evans; and great-grand children Brittany, Lauren, Jennifer, Wyatt, and Miranda. The funeral service will be Friday, November 12, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., with Marshall Gupton officiating, burial to follow at Mapleview Cemetery in Smyrna, Tennessee.
