Dora Boone Gooch, 89, long time resident of Lewisburg, TN passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014 in Fulton, KY. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 27, 1924 to the late William Milton Boone and Bertha Gore Boone. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Morton Gooch and her sister, Bertha Boone. She is survived by two sons, Dr. Allen C. Gooch and his wife Cynthia of Troy, TN, Rand Gooch and his wife Sandy of Westminster, CO, a grandson, Daniel Gooch of Memphis, and two granddaughters, Rebecca Gooch of Spokane, WA, and Katherine Gooch of Nashville, TN. Mrs. Gooch, among many jobs worked at the Marshall County Senior Citizens Center where she directed the choir known as the Choralaires. She was a long time member of Church Street Church of Christ. Following the death of her husband in 1993, Mrs. Gooch made her residence in Troy, TN near her son and grandchildren. She happily served as a Pink Lady at Baptist Hospital in Union City, TN while there. Visitation will be from 12noon until 1:30pm Tuesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna, TN. Graveside service will be 2:00pm Tuesday at Mapleview Cemetery in Smyrna, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Fund.
