MSGT DONALD WARREN NELSON, age 80, of Smyrna died Thursday, November 4, 2008 at Centennial Medical Center. He was born in Belle West, Va. and was the son of the late Robert Benson & Jessie Combow Nelson. He is survived by daughter, Pamela Tedrow of Scottsdale, Arizona; step son, Robert Tedrow, Kalispell, Montana; step daughter, Barbara Lazarus, of Oakland, California; sister, Maxine Ramsey, of Kenna, West, Va.; grandchildren, Rachel Helmle, Kahai Tate, William Tedrow and Samuel Tedrow; great grandchildren, Kyle Helmle, Troy Helmle, Reed Helmle, Remy Tate and Ryder Tate. Visitation with the family will be at 2 pm Saturday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Funeral services will follow at 3 pm Saturday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with Rev. Buddy Royston officiating. Entombment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with full military rites. Mr. Nelson was a Protestant, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps as a retired MSGT. He was a former plant manager.
