Donald Lee Mitchell, age 78, of Smyrna, TN passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 at his home. Mr. Mitchell was a native of Kansas City, Missouri and was preceded in death by his father, Harry Spencer and his sister, Donna McCasslin. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00AM at Woodfin Funeral Chapel in Smyrna. Brother John Upchurch, Pastor Pat Hood and Dr. Lenny Farmer will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with military rites. Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife, Reba Callicotte Mitchell; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda (Greg) Buford of Houston, TX and Donna (Steve) Bridgewater of Clearwater, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Donald F. (Becky) Mitchell of Smyrna, TN; mother, Mary Spencer of Kansas; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grand-children; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gordon (Diane) Spencer of Wyoming, Robert (Judy) Spencer of Colorado, David Spencer of Kansas, and Neal Wilhelm of Missouri; sisters, Mary Hastings and Gail Pressler both of Missouri; Uncle Floyd Mitchell and Aunt Frances Foley both of Missouri and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Mitchell was a member of Life Point Church in Smyrna. He served in the United States Army and was a retired Assistant Chief Pilot with Kansas City Life Insurance Company. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Alive Hospice Health Care. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Woodfin Funeral Chapel in Smyrna. 459-3254
