DONALD GENE LAYHEW age 73 of Milton TN, died Thursday Dec.4, 2008. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late William Charlie and Annie Elizabeth Baltimore Layhew. Funeral services will be 1:00PM Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Avaritt and Teb Batey officiating. Burial will be in the Milton Cemetery. Survived by wife, Barbara Jones Layhew, sons, and daughters-in-law, Donald Gene Layhew, II of Milton, TN, Alfred Jeffrey and Sandy Layhew of Hamilton, TX, Robert Joseph and Misty Layhew of Norene, TN, daughters and sons-in-law, Laurie and Tommy Uselton of Murfreesboro, TN and Angela and Steve Parchment of Richmond, KY. Three sisters, Hazel Davis of Woodbury, TN and Elizabeth Carpenter and Alberta Parker both of Murfreesboro, TN and sister-in-law, Bell Layhew of Lascassas, TN. Mr. Layhew is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Jaime, Joshua, Jessica, and Brittany Layhew, Beth Uselton, Emilly Davis, Zoey, Levi, Kaylee, and Emma Layhew, Taylor and Ben Parchment. Four great-grandchildren, Ethan Layhew, Jonathan Mahon, Hunter Layhew, and Makenzie Sills. Mr. Layhew was a US Air Force veteran, a member of Milton Church of Christ, and a retired store manager with Firestone of 31 years. Mr. Layhew was also a 1963 graduate of MTSU.
