Donald A. Day age 72 of Smyrna died Wednesday at his home. He was a native of Dillon Missouri. He was preceded in death by his wife; Patricia A. Day, and parents Frank and Lorina Hoggatt Day. Mr. Day was retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service, then worked for McDonald Douglas, Martin Marietta, and retired from Textron as a Safety Engineer. He is survived by his children; James Day and wife Karen of Florida, , Edie Kitchens and husband Stan of Oklahoma, Earl Day of Florida, Douglas Day and wife Lisa of Oklahoma, Samuel Day and wife Laura of Murfreesboro; Six grandchildren, Donald, Stephen, Randy, Ashley, Chayse, Olivia and great-grandson, Rex; sisters, Ruth Compton of Georgia, and Karen Plunk of Missouri. Funeral service will be 1:00PM Saturday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, Murfreesboro. Dr. Bobby Howard will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.
