Dianna Schmidt

Mrs. Dianna Mae Hestermann Schmidt, age 79, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026. She was born in Hammond, IN to the late John and Kathleen Brown Hestermann. Dianna was a 1965 graduate of Hammond Technical Vocational High School. She went on to have several careers ranging from becoming a certified nursing assistant to property management.

Dianna is survived by her children, Dawn Pierce and her husband Jeff and Tony Cogdill and his wife MaryAnn; grandchildren, Nicole Warren and her husband John, Jay Cogdill, Katie Cogdill, Heather Rourk and her husband Brian, Jon Blackwood, Anthony Pierce, and Lisa Daugherty; nine great grandchildren; siblings, Marcia Bates, John Hestermann and his wife Leslie, and Pamela Daniels and her husband Brent; cousin who was more like a brother, David Brown; best friend of many years, Mary Fisher; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Ray Schmidt.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
