Dennis Whittemore, age 64 of Smyrna died Thursday at StoneCrest Medical Center. He was born in Hamtramck, Michigan to the late Douglas Eugene and Bettye Morton Whittemore.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Debra Whittemore; two sons, Mark and Tim Whittemore, both of Smyrna; three grandchildren, Tylar, Brooklyn, and Guage Whittemore, all of Smyrna; a twin brother, Dean Whittemore and his wife Tina of Whitehouse; sisters, Marilyn Adams and her husband Calvin of Columbia, and Helen Howser and her husband Jim of Lafayette; half-brother, Clarence Whittemore of Indianapolis, IN; nieces, Samantha Felts of Whites Bluff and Jennifer Whittemore of Nashville; nephews, Nick Howser of Knoxville and Dino Whittemore of Gallatin; special friend, Katie M. Stilts of Murfreesboro; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Burial with military honors will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
