Dennis Eugene Slater, age 60, of Smyrna, died June 9, 2014 at his home. He was born in Fort Scott, Kansas, and lived in Pleasanton, Kansas. He was the son of the late Jon Eugene and Norma Rose Holt Slater. A celebration of life will be held at Hilltop Park in Smyrna Thursday at 3:30 PM. Mr. Slater is survived by his wife, Yvonne Slater; children, Angela Mathes (Jonathan), Misty Farrell,and Christopher Slater; step children, Joshua Richardson and Joella Peterman; 11 grandchildren and a sister Dawn Cavnar (Jay).
