Dennis Rongey, age 58 of Smyrna, died Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Stonecrest Medical Center. He was a native of Memphis and the son of the late Hardy Eugene Rongey and Zelma Azbill Carney. He was also preceded by a daughter, Jennifer Nancy Rongey. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Jane Rongey; a son, Matthew Rongey and his wife Holly of Tallahassee, Florida; a daughter, Megan Nelms and her husband Jesse of Chapel Hill, Tennessee; and granddaughters, Kadijah, Savannah, Anna Caroline, and baby girl Nelms due in July. Mr. Rongey was a graduate of Lambuth College in Jackson, Tennessee and employed by the Amazon distribution center in Murfreesboro. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 11:00 am until the time of memorial services beginning at 12:00pm at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna.
