Dr. Dennis Powell age 68 of Murfreesboro died Sunday September 13, 2015. He was a native of Chicago, IL and was a Vietnam Veteran having served with the United States Marine Corps. Dr. Powell was a Criminal Justice Professor at MTSU for 36 years. Dr. Powell a beloved husband, father, and grandfather is survived by his wife, Bonnie Powell; children, Matthew Powell and wife Amanda of Murfreesboro, Amanda O'Gwynn of Murfreesboro, Terra Lane and husband Chad of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Kamryn, Taylor, Kobi, Gracie, Olivia. Funeral service with Military Honors will be 10:30 AM Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Trey Carey will officiate. Visitation will be 4:00PM to 8:00PM Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
