Dennis Ray Merrell, age 68 of Murfreesboro, TN passed away on August 5, 2021. He was born in Camden, TN to the late Carlton Ray Merrell and Norma Jean Burnette. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepfather, Jerry Burnette, and brother, Glenn Merrell.

Mr. Merrell is survived by his wife, Johanna Frizzell Merrell; daughters, Amanda Charlton and husband Adam and Karen Blackwood and husband Jay; grandchildren, Caleb, Peyton, Lorelai, Felicity, and Libby; and a sister, Karen Jones and husband Tony.

Mr. Merrell retired from CSX Railroad with 41 years of service. He was a member of World Outreach Church, where he was active with the media team and children's ministry. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Monday, August 9, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Eddie Reed will officiating.
