DELORECE MINGLE ELROD, age 80 of Murfreesboro died Monday, January 24, 2011. She was a native of Rutherford County and the daughter of the late B. R. Tuck and Willie Thomas Mingle. Funeral service will be 11:00am Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Dr. Mike Smith and Dr. Eugene Cotey will officiate. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Mac Elrod, children, Larry (Klaudia) Elrod of Billings, MT, Ronnie (Joni) Elrod of Murfreesboro, Elaine (Clark) Baker of Sewanee, and Darryl (Linda) Elrod of Lascassas, sister, Elfreda Wassom of Knoxville, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Mrs. Elrod was a member of First Baptist Church and an accomplished artist. She graduated from Murfreesboro Central High School in 1948 and attended MTSU and the University of Cincinnati. Mrs. Elrod along with her husband were owners and operators of Mingle and Elrod, Inc until their retirement in 1981. They did mission work in 25 of the 50 States, Canada, and Brazil.
