MRS. DELGAY READ McELROY, age 65, of Murfreesboro, Tn. died July 2, 2008 at National Health Care Center. She was a native of Rockvale, Tn. She was preceded in death by her father, the late Hollis Read. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Larry McElroy; daughters, Hollie (Tim) Adcock, Jackson, Tn. and Terrie (Ashley) Hayes, Rockvale; mother, Mrs. Guy Gordon Read, Murfreesboro; brother, Pettus (Judy) Read, Rockvale; grandchildren, Jackson and Caroline Adcock; sister in law, Becky Augustine, Lawrenceburg, Tn., several nieces and nephews. Funeral services 1 pm Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Perry Muse officiating. Burial in Wards Grove Cemetery. Visitation with the family 4-8 pm Thursday. Mrs. McElroy was a member of Northminister Presbyterian Church and a retired school teacher having taught at Holloway High School and David Youree. She was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. She was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Read.
