Debra Jill Butler, age 61 of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, died Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. She was a native of Murfreesboro and the daughter of the late Walter and Agnes Mai Jackson Butler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, George Jackson Butler.

Survivors include cousins, Edd Allison, Todd Jackson, and Marie Hall; a host of loving friends including, Rita Owen, Doris Curry, Frances House, Sandra Bennett, Cynthia Richie, Lee Swain, and Jimmy Johnson.

Jill was a 1980 magna cum laude graduate of MTSU with a master's degree in chemistry and biology. After 36 years of service as an analytical chemist, she retired as the Laboratory Manager of the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development TOSHA Lab.

A memorial visitation will be Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro.
