Debora Hundley

Debora Sue Hundley (Phillips), of Smyrna Tennessee, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her children. She was born May 16, 1955, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Michael and NormaGene Phillips.

Originally from Indianapolis, Debbie carried her Hoosier roots with her throughout her life before making her home in Smyrna, Tennessee, in late 1991. She worked as an insurance consultant since 1974 and began working for FCG Consulting in January 1992. She was the Vice President of Underwriting and Government and Compliance for the past 34 years. Chris, Kim, and Mark Fessenden were like family to her.

Debbie was known for her caring heart, strength, kindness, determination, independence, and the love she shared with those around her. She touched the lives of so many through her compassion, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.

Debbie will be remembered most for the love she gave so freely and the memories she created with those fortunate enough to know her. Her warmth, laughter, and gentle spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by those who welcomed her into eternal rest—her parents, Michael and NormaGene Phillips, and her sisters, Tammy Dahl and Deeanna Phillips.

Debbie leaves behind cherished family members including Aunt Janice Mascari, Uncle Samuel R. Woolbright; children Ginger Pollitt (Kevin), Gilbert (Gil) Ernst III (Belinda), and Corina (Cori) Wickwire (Brandon). Grandchildren Brooke Pollitt, Brittany Pollitt, Gilbert (Gilly) Ernst IV, Elizabeth Wickwire, Kaylinn Wickwire, and Gavin Ernst are lives that were enriched by her. Her memory will continue to live on through the love she shared and the legacy she leaves behind.

The family invites all who knew Debbie to remember her with love, celebrate her life, and honor the kindness and joy she brought to the world.

“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard.”
