David Joseph Thompson, age 53, of Tullahoma, formerly of Murfreesboro, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Life Care Center in Tullahoma, TN. A native of Rutherford County he is preceded in death by his mother, Emma Duffy Leslie Duffett Thompson who died in 2008. He is survived by his father, Aubrey Thompson of Murfreesboro; sister and brother-in-law, Leslie and John Sauer of Huntsville, AL; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Billie Jo Thompson of Murfreesboro, TN; nephew, Justin Sauer of Nashville, TN; niece Lauren and Casey Steinbrecher of Harrisonburg, VA; aunts, uncles and cousins. Mr. Thompson was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Funeral services will be Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel at 1:00 PM. Brother Earl Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial can be made to Bethel United Methodist Church or to a charity of your choice.
